Care
Medical detox, then residential treatment

My2Cents Recovery started in 2024 with one goal: to make a real difference for people who need help with alcohol or drugs. Our owner came into this field for that reason and prefers to stay out of the spotlight. So this page puts the focus where it belongs: on the people who care for you, and the licenses you can check.

We chose a small house on purpose. California treats a licensed home with six or fewer residents like any family home (Health & Safety Code § 11834.23). With six clients at most, staff notice when something changes, and nobody gets lost in a crowd. Our team is close. They share what they see, shift to shift, so everyone knows how each person is doing.

One house. Six beds.

A team that talks like family.

02Is it right for you?

Is our small home the right fit?

An honest answer helps more than a full bed. We'll tell you the truth on the first call, even if the right place is somewhere else.

Our home may fit if

  • You need to stop alcohol or drugs and can safely detox outside a hospital.
  • You do better in a small, quiet setting than in a large facility.
  • You're ready to share a home with up to five other adults in recovery.
  • You also have depression, anxiety or trauma, and want help with both.
  • You want detox and residential treatment in one place, with one team.

Other care first if

  • You need a hospital for withdrawal or another medical problem.
  • You're in a mental health crisis that needs a psychiatric hospital.
  • You're thinking about suicide and have a plan. Call or text 988, or call 911.
  • You've already finished detox somewhere else. An outpatient program will most likely fit better.

In an emergency, call 911.

The right place is the one that's safe.

We'll help you find it, even if it isn't us.

03Our license, in plain words

A licensed home, not just a house

California treats a licensed home with six or fewer residents as a residential use of property, like a family home. It still has to meet state rules for safety, beds, linens and staffing. Health & Safety Code § 11834.23 · 9 CCR § 10581

05Mission & values

Why we're here, and how we work

Our mission is simple. We give every person a safe place to stop and a real plan to heal. And when they leave, a clear next step.

1

Clinical precision

Care follows a plan, not guesses. Every client gets an assessment, a written treatment plan, and therapies with real research behind them, as NIDA recommends.

2

Genuine compassion

You're a person first, not a case. With six clients at most, staff know your name, your story and what helps you on a hard day.

3

Continuum commitment

We plan for the day you leave from the day you arrive. Before you go, we line up the sober living and outpatient care that fit you. SAMHSA: Recovery

A safe place to stop.

A real plan, and a next step.

06Our team

The people who care for you

Staff are in the house day and night, with safety checks every 30 minutes. Our team talks like family, so nothing important falls through the cracks between shifts. Photos are coming soon.

07How we care

Signs of quality care, checked one by one

The federal agency SAMHSA lists signs of quality treatment to look for. Here's how our home measures up, sign by sign. SAMHSA: Finding quality treatment

  1. Licensed and accredited

The state licenses us for detox and residential care. The Joint Commission accredits our residential program. Check both.

  2. Therapies backed by research

CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and family therapy, plus meditation and art therapy as supports. Four groups a day and two one-on-one sessions a week.

  3. FDA-approved medicines, when they fit

If it fits your plan, our medical director may prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone) for opioid withdrawal. After detox, naltrexone can ease cravings.

  4. Families included, if you choose

With your consent, family therapy helps rebuild trust. Family can visit any day of the week, planned ahead.

  5. Support for the rest of your life

Mental health care is part of treatment here, because the two often go together (SAMHSA). Before you leave, we line up sober living and outpatient care.

Want the details? See residential treatment for each therapy and the research behind it, and medical detox for the medicines.

Five signs of quality care.

All five, in one small house.

08The house

A six-bed home in the Granada Hills foothills

Our treatment center is one licensed house with six beds, three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a pool, gardens and staff on site day and night. Detox and residential treatment both happen here, so you never move buildings.

09After you leave

We line up what comes next

Recovery keeps going after you leave our house. Before you go, our case manager lines up the next step with you, so you're not starting from zero. We strongly recommend continuing care, because recovery is stronger with support after treatment.

Sober living

A safe, alcohol- and drug-free place to live while you settle back into daily life.

Outpatient care (IOP)

Several hours of treatment a few days a week, while you live at home or in sober living.

Your choice, our guidance

You get vetted resources and options that fit your needs. The choice to continue is yours, but we strongly recommend ongoing care.

Your next step is ready

before your last day here.

10Paying for treatment

Paying for treatment with a PPO plan

We're an out-of-network provider. We have no contract with any insurance company, but many PPO plans may help pay for detox and residential treatment here. We check your benefits for free and go over them with you by phone.

Most of our clients use their PPO plan's out-of-network benefits. Clients have used plans like these. We are not in network with any of them, and coverage depends on your plan. Self-pay is also available.

  • Aetna
  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • Cigna
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • UMR
  • Meritain Health
  • GEHA (federal employees)
  • Out-of-state Blue Cross Blue Shield PPOs
  • Employer-sponsored PPO plans
  • Other PPO plans

Have these ready when you call: your insurance card, front and back. The plan holder's name and birth date. A list of the medicines you take.

Not accepted: HMO plans, Medi-Cal or any other type of insurance. We work with PPO plans only. On Medi-Cal in Los Angeles County? Call the county's substance use helpline at 1-844-804-7500. LA County SAPC

How your insurance check works

  1. Share your PPO details. Call us, or use our insurance form.
  2. We verify your benefits for free. We check your plan's out-of-network benefits with your insurance company.
  3. You get a clear yes or no. We call you back and tell you if we can accept your plan.
  4. If it's a no, you're not on your own. We'll connect you with a trusted program that takes your plan.

We never pay or receive money for referrals.

Questions & answers

Questions about us

Our story

When was My2Cents Recovery founded?

In 2024. We're a licensed six-bed treatment center in Granada Hills, Los Angeles. We offer medical detox and residential treatment in the same house.

Who owns My2Cents Recovery?

A private owner who prefers to stay out of the spotlight. They came into this field to make a difference. You don't have to take that on trust: our state license, accreditation and staff licenses are public records you can check.

Why only six beds?

Because a small house lets staff truly know each person. Staff notice changes early, and the house stays quiet enough to rest. California treats a licensed home with six or fewer residents as a residential use of property, like a family home.

What is your mission?

A safe place to stop, a real plan to heal, and a clear next step. Three values guide our work: clinical precision, genuine compassion and care that goes on after you leave.

Licenses & trust

A check that a treatment center follows the law and advertising rules. Google requires it for addiction treatment ads. It's not a quality rating, but it shows a center passed a background review.
